Precedent updates are available for our members in the TT Precedents Club for free. If you’re not in The TT Precedents Club, unfortunately I cannot offer updates to the precedents, and you only receive the precedents as they are at the time of purchase. I don’t plan on making precedent updates available for purchase outside of the TT Precedents Club, sorry. I would love to do this but the administration involved would be a complete nightmare!

If you’re in the TT Precedents Club, you get access to our will drafting clause bank plus you can submit questions to me and I will draft proposed clauses for your wills or review your proposed drafting.

The precedents are not currently integrated with coding for any practice management systems.

The precedents are delivered as word documents with a list of variables that you can replace with client details using the Ctrl + H function (i.e. Global Replace).

Yep!  You will receive the templates as unprotected word documents, so you can make any changes you like to them.  You can add in any additional custom coding or clauses that you like, however you will be responsible for those changes.

If you do tailor the word templates, it could make things a bit more complicated when trying to integrate future updates.

Yes, however arranging for any third party lodgement or notification obligations will be your responsibility. 

Where the trust has an individual trustee (i.e. the trustee is a person and not a company), the power of attorney deed can be used… however it will cease to be effective on the trustee’s death or incapacity.  

For example:

It is useful where the trustee wants to delegate because they are going overseas

It is not useful where the trust is carrying on a trading business and the individual trustee loses capacity.  The default succession mechanisms in the trust deed would need to be relied upon in that instance.  In that situation you would be better to recommend a deed of succession using our Trust Succession Pack.
