Each State has different criteria for solicitors claiming CPD points. Below is a summary of the relevant guidelines from each State:

Queensland: In Queensland you can self assess your CPD points.  Courses, Workshops, Lectures and Discussion Groups and Web-Based Programs are eligible for CPD points on the basis of 1 CPD point per hour, and there is no limit on the hours that can be undertaken in this format.  See the QLS CPD Guide.

Victoria and New South Wales: In Victoria and New South Wales you can self assess your CPD points.  Private study of recorded audio/visual materials (which is passive and does not offer opportunity for interaction) is also eligible for CPD points on the basis of 1 CPD point per hour, however you cannot claim more than 5 CPD points for this activity per year  See the Legal Profession Uniform Continuing Professional Development (Solicitors) Rules 2015 .

South Australia: In South Australia you can self assess your CPD points. Viewing a web-based pogram or recorded material is eligible for CPD points on the basis of 1 CPD point per hour, however you cannot claim more than 5 CPD points for this activity per year.  See the guidance from the Law Society of South Australia here.

Australian Capital Territory: In the ACT you can self assess your CPD points. Workshops, lectures, tutorials, discussion groups, audio/video/online presentations are eligible for CPD points on the basis of 1 CPD point per hour, and there is no limit on the hours that can be undertaken in this format.  See the guidance from the ACT Law Society here.

Tasmania: In Tasmania  you can self assess your CPD points. Viewing a web-based pogram or recorded material is also eligible for CPD points on the basis of 1 CPD point per hour, however you cannot claim more than 5 CPD points for this activity per year.  See the guidance from the Law Society of Tasmania here. 

Northern Territory: In the NT you can self assess your CPD points. Private study using audio or visual material is also eligible for CPD points on the basis of 0.5 CPD points per 30 minutes however you cannot claim more than 5 CPD points for this activity per year.  See the guidance from the Law Society of NT here.

Western Australia:  In the WA your CPD must be from an authorised provider.  The Art of Estate Planning is registered as an authorised provider with the WA Legal Practice Board (ID 41714) however only for our weekly hot seat calls in The TT Precedents Club.

At this point in time you will not receive CPD points for completing this course.

You have access to the course for life, so you can go at your own pace.

If you complete all the lessons and pass the exam at the end, you will be armed with confidence and clarity about testamentary trusts which you can start implementing in your estate planning practice.
